Othello

Mae’r ddrama hon wedi cael ei gynhyrchu gan un o gwmniau teithiol blaenllaw Shakespeare gyda actorion sydd wedi ennill gwobrau. Mae Othello yn delio gyda phynciau sydd mor berthnasol heddiw ag oedd i’r bobl a welodd y ddrama gyntaf 400 o flynyddoedd yn ôl. Dyma gyfle i wylio drama gyda rhai o llinellau fwyaf hardd ac enwog, cymeriadau a golygfeydd deinamig.

Anvil’s new production of Shakespeare’s gripping tragedy of jealousy and greed. Produced by one of the leading Shakespeare touring companies in the country and with award-winning actors, Anvil presents one of The Bard’s most popular plays. Othello deals with the issues as relevant to us today as they were to the people who first saw it over 400 years ago. With some of the most beautiful and famous lines ever written, dynamic characters and the most dramatic scenes, this is a rare opportunity to present drama at its very best.

The Hound of the Baskervilles
Illyria

Stori adnabyddus Syr Arthur Conan Doyle mewn fersiwn annisgwyl gan Illyria.

An ancient curse hangs over the Baskerville family of Dartmoor: all are said to die a brutal death, the victim of a monstrous ghostly hound. When Sir Charles Baskerville meets an untimely end, the case is brought to the attention of Sherlock Holmes. But of what use is the famous detective's scientific reasoning when confronted with a purely supernatural case? As Watson rushes to Devon on the 8.49, an escaped convict roams the wastes of Dartmoor, a dark shadow tiptoes down the silent empty corridors of Baskerville Hall and a distant howling echoes in the moonlight... Illyria promise a cheeky but surprisingly chilling take on the detective classic.

"UNMISSABLE!" The Scotsman

What a performance it was. You would never have guessed that they were probably exhausted, for it was driven with such enthusiasm. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s masterpiece was a pleasure to watch. The twists and turns of its Agatha Christie style plot about murder, a mystic moor and a horrifying hound, were gripping. Julia Taylor, Manchester Evening News

"A truly original performance, the cast threw so much energy and excitement into the script, that thought I was seeing the play for the first time, particularly bottom's scenes, which before I often found tedious." Abby Ray, Bath Chronicle

"Increasing the pleasure of a very enjoyable evening (the audience was attentive and appreciative throughout) was the feeling that we were participating in a re-enactment of a bygone age" Sheila Conner

The Merry Wives of Windsor

Illyria

Hwyl a thwyll rhwng Falstaff a Mrs Page a Mrs Ford yn nrama fywiog Shakespeare.

Falstaff sends identical love-letters to Mrs Page and Mrs Ford, but recognising that his intentions are not entirely honourable they set about to humiliate him in the most extravagant ways they can devise. Will Mistress Ford defend her stainless reputation? Why is there a duel between a French doctor and a Welsh priest? All will be made ENTIRELY clear but not before Falstaff has been tipped into the river, dressed up as a witch, beaten with cudgels and set on fire. Multiple international award-winning Illyria return to their home turf ? Shakespeare at his most boisterous and farcical.
